Jewelry-Only Stores Post Sales Gains

preliminary sales reports are in from the u.s. census bureau for 2003, and the news is good: sales at jewelry-only stores were up nearly 7% over 2002 figures. for the five-year period 1999-2003, sales increased a little over 11.5% overall. for the fourth quarter of 2003, sales increased 9.5% over figures for the same period the year before.

Fabergé Collection to Tour Russia

the associated press has reported that the fabergé collection formerly owned by forbes magazine will begin a tour of russia in may. debuting at the kremlin in moscow on may 18, 2004, the collection is expected to travel to the state hermitage museum in st. petersburg and on to an unannounced location in yekaterinburg, the city where the russian imperial family was executed in 1918.
