The 2004 edition of Éclat de Mode, held Jan. 23-26 in Paris, welcomed 344 companies, including 147 international firms from 27 different nations—an increase in exhibitors of 18.6% over the previous year's figures. Visitor attendance also was up (13.82%), with 10,245 professional buyers making the trip to Paris for the event.
This year, the Etoiles de Mode awards featured a new category, "Most Beautiful Booth," judged by designers Patrick Pagnon and Claude Pelhaître and decorator Odile Souchon. The jury awarded three stars to Otazu (Great Britain) for Most Aesthetic Booth; to Chule (France) for Most Daring Booth; and to Konplott (Luxembourg) for the booth whose presentation best emphasized the products.
