Attendance up at Éclat de Mode

The 2004 edition of Éclat de Mode, held Jan. 23-26 in Paris, welcomed 344 companies, including 147 international firms from 27 different nations—an increase in exhibitors of 18.6% over the previous year’s figures. Visitor attendance also was up (13.82%), with 10,245 professional buyers making the trip to Paris for the event.

This year, the Etoiles de Mode awards featured a new category, “Most Beautiful Booth,” judged by designers Patrick Pagnon and Claude Pelhaître and decorator Odile Souchon. The jury awarded three stars to Otazu (Great Britain) for Most Aesthetic Booth; to Chule (France) for Most Daring Booth; and to Konplott (Luxembourg) for the booth whose presentation best emphasized the products.

L’Etoile Parti-Pris went to Angela Caputi Giuggiu (Italy). Other winners included Linda Lacroix (France), Alexandra Plata (Spain), Metal Pointu’s (France), De Farro (Italy), Van der Straeten (France), La Tribu Rigaux (France), Dori Scengeri-Charbin (France), Simone’s (France), Lolita Pompadour, France, Philippe Ferrandis (France), Jean Daniel Brami (France), Tosh (Germany), Les Nereides (France), Cecile Moreau (Belgium), Cote Mecs (France), Fifi La Ferraille (France), Réminiscence (France), Annabelle Krom (France), Great by Sandie (France), and Franck Herval (France).

Following the juries’ deliberations, the Etoiles were photographed with their creations, and the photos were later projected non-stop on plasma screens at the Fashion Bar.
