JCK Jewelry Agenda: Week of June 21

Share

Happy Father’s Day! Recent reporting on JCK suggests it might have been a weekend of brisk sales, and if that’s the case, take some time to celebrate today. Later this week, you have a jewelry show in New York…and why not tack on a new exhibit at the American Museum of Natural History that is perfectly timed for all those FIFA World Cup matches many of us have been watching? Plus, an auction in London centered on legendary military elites.

Napoleon’s hair, Lawrence of Arabia’s riding crop, and a ceremonial sabre signed by Cartier Paris are among the objects presented in this unique sale hosted by London’s Olympia Auctions. As JCK’s Annie Davidson Watson noted, the undeniable star of the lineup is a presentation sabre with a hilt signed Cartier Paris—surviving Cartier swords from the interwar period are a coveted rarity, according to the auction’s specialists. Ahead of the live auction, public viewings are open starting today through Wednesday.
