The International Colored Gemstone Association (ICA) has named industry veteran Brandee Dallow its new CEO.

Dallow, the chief communications and sustainability officer at Grandview Klein Diamonds Group, currently serves as president of the Community for Ethical Jewelry (formerly Ethical Metalsmiths).

Previously, she held board president positions at the Women’s Jewelry Association and the Women’s Jewelry Association Foundation. At the same time, she worked in executive positions for SCS Global Services, the Responsible Jewellery Council, Rio Tinto Diamonds, Julius Klein Group, and De Beers/J. Walter Thompson. She is considered a master of marketing and communications who’s passionate about sourcing and sustainability.

“Our industry has given me so much over the years, and I couldn’t be more excited to begin this new chapter with ICA,” Dallow tells JCK. “The world of colored gemstones—the people, the communities, the journey from mine to market, and the extraordinary entrepreneurs, manufacturers, miners, and traders who make up ICA’s membership—is a constant source of inspiration, and I look forward to helping our members grow, thrive, and tell their stories on a global stage.”

ICA president Damien Cody said in a release, “Brandee brings a thoughtful and collaborative leadership style, along with a deep understanding of the opportunities and challenges facing our sector. We are excited about the perspective, experience, and energy she will bring to our members and the association.”

The New York–based ICA comprises nearly 700 industry members from 47 countries whose purpose is to educate consumers, foster ethical business practices, and promote the colored stone industry.

Dallow’s appointment is effective July 6. She succeeds Doug Hucker, who stepped down in April.
