92NY Seeks Applicants for Jewelry Residency

Share

The only jewelry designer residency at a New York City–based educational institution is now accepting applicants for its eighth year.

Applications for the 92nd Street Y’s 2026 jewelry artist residency should be submitted by April 1. The residency, scheduled for Aug. 17–Sept. 13, provides 24-hour access to private studio space at 92NY and the opportunity to present work during a two-day workshop at the Jewelry Center. Studio apartment accommodations and travel expenses to and from New York City are also included.

The residency allows a jeweler or metalsmith at any stage of their career to develop a body of work and/or complete research while engaging with New York City’s cultural community, according to a 92NY statement. The artist in residence receives professional consultations with representatives from local cultural venues, the statement said.

“We welcome submissions from the United States and around the world,” Jonathan Wahl, director of the 92NY’s Jewelry Center, said in the statement.

Previous 92NY jewelry artists in residence were Bettina Speckner (2025), Shin-Ryeong Kim (2024), Sungho Cho (2023), Alexander Blank (2022), Claudia Lepik (2019), Ineke Heerkens (2018), and Göran Kling (2017).

This year’s applications will be reviewed by a panel of experts and professionals in the arts and humanities. The winner will be notified by mid-April.
