Share

The Women’s Jewelry Association (WJA) is introducing a new leadership training series, WJA Masterclass, as part of its evergreen mission of advancing women professionals in the jewelry and watch industries.

The initiative, which will comprise four virtual sessions, is also part of WJA’s women’s empowerment campaign, March is Me Month.

The first class in the series, “Hiring Strong Teams: How to Identify & Hire Top Salespeople,” will be hosted by Peter Smith, president of Memoire and Hearts On Fire. Smith, a longtime WJA supporter, is a columnist, speaker, and the author of Hiring Squirrels: 12 Essential Interview Questions to Uncover Great Retail Sales Talent.

Smith will share tips and practical advice for identifying, interviewing, and hiring productive sales talent. The session is relevant for “professionals from all areas of the jewelry and watch industries,” including independent designers, small business owners, corporate employees, and consultants, according to a prepared WJA statement. Bonus: The first 30 people to sign up for Smith’s session will receive a free copy of his book.

The remaining three webinars, which will focus on leadership training topics, include “Polishing Your Virtual Presence” and “The Art of Delegation,” according to WJA’s statement.

Smith’s WJA class will take place Wednesday, March 24, at 1 p.m. ET. Registration is free for WJA members and $25 for non-members. Register here.

WJA is committed to helping women develop leadership skills and connect with other industry professionals. The trade organization, which has active chapters all over the United States, currently offers over 160 volunteer leadership positions.
