DCA to Present at IJO Conference
The Diamond Council of America (DCA) will conduct a two-hour seminar on “gemstone sales power” at the upcoming Independent Jewelers Organization (IJO) conference. It will take place on Feb. 28, opening day of the four-day IJO event at the Broadmoor resort in Colorado Springs.
Designed to build jeweler retailers’ confidence in selling colored gemstones, the DCA session will teach attendees how to speak about gemstone color, rarity, and value in ways that inspire customers and address common objections.
“We are looking forward to presenting this Gemstone Live session at IJO,” said Annie Doresca, president and CEO of the Diamond Council, in a statement. “With our renewed commitment to providing quality and affordable distance education, this course will provide jewelers with an interactive look into the DCA Colored Gemstones Course, an essential educational course in today’s gemstone-driven retail environment.”

Overnight Mountings Debuts New Website
Custom jeweler Overnight Mountings has redesigned its website with new tools and features that simplify workflows and enhance transparency, offering a “seamless, modern browsing experience,” according to a company statement.
The new site includes customer account-specific pricing, a new interface for custom requests and CAD file submissions, and an enhanced customer backend. Overnight also has added unusual and hard-to-find diamond shapes.
“This launch is only the beginning,” Mitch Adwar, vice president of Overnight, said in the statement. “We have big plans for 2026, and we’re excited to roll out several major upgrades later this year that will continue to push the boundaries of what our platform can do.”
NDC Enlists New Members and Signatories to Luanda Accord
The government of Namibia formalized its participation in the Luanda Accord—an agreement among African diamond-producing nations and global trade groups to help fund marketing by the Natural Diamond Council (NDC)—at a meeting led by the NDC during the Mining Indaba conference in Cape Town earlier this month.
Namibia joined signatories including Angola, Botswana, and the Democratic Republic of Congo in agreeing to contribute monetarily to the marketing of natural diamonds.
“Namibia’s decision to formally join the Luanda Accord is a powerful signal of leadership from one of the world’s largest diamond-producing nations,” said Amber Pepper, CEO of the Natural Diamond Council, in a statement. “Collective action is essential to protect the integrity and desirability of natural diamonds, and Namibia’s commitment strengthens our ability to tell the compelling story of their positive impact.”
At the same meeting, the NDC signed a memorandum of understanding with the Gem & Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC) for the Indian organization to become an NDC member by May 1. The memo reflects GJEPC’s continued commitment to collective action in support of the natural diamond sector and enables the group to work with the NDC ahead of the 2026 holiday season.
“GJEPC has long been a valued partner of the Natural Diamond Council,” said Pepper. “Their move toward membership deepens that partnership and strengthens our ability to reach the next generation of consumers with clear, compelling information about what makes natural diamonds rare, authentic, and meaningful.”
The NDC also signed a letter of intent with the Dubai Multi Commodities Centre for the DMCC to become a member by May 1, as DMCC continues to help advance the objectives of the Luanda Accord.
