Roseate Jewelry’s latest collection is a tribute to themes in Christopher Nolan’s epic The Odyssey: courage, endurance, and devotion.
The brand’s exclusive collaboration with the new film includes sterling silver, gold, saltwater pearls, and mother-of-pearl. Pieces can be preordered on the Roseate website, and are available in select Nordstrom locations starting today.
Roseate founder Pam Cloud says the pearl was key to this collection because the gemstone is associated with the moon and the sea. The pearl also reflects the cycles that guide Odysseus as he tries to go home after the Trojan War in The Odyssey.
“Jewelry has long imbued strong personal meanings and stories. The parallels between the symbols in the movie and Roseate’s values provided rich inspiration in creating designs that honored the story of the film and the brand,” Cloud tells JCK. “We are excited to see how people will incorporate these pieces into their jewelry wardrobes and style them their own way.”

The Odyssey x Roseate collection features Roseate’s signature TreasureLock medallions engraved with symbols inspired by The Odyssey. The lion (above) represents leadership as well as perseverance, as Odysseus returns to reclaim his kingdom. The Tree of Life—depicting birds on an olive branch—represents renewal and steadfast devotion, as in the unwavering faith of Odysseus’ wife, Penelope.
In honor of Penelope, Roseate created a Strength collection, which includes a heart pendant (below) to show how love endures through separation and time. It looks as if it were formed from two of Roseate’s WaterDrops.

The Odyssey collection’s dagger pendant was designed to inspire people to think of a true leader’s character of precision, patience, and resolve, says Cloud.
She also used a moon motif in the jewelry, as moons show up throughout The Odyssey. The moon marks the passage of time and lights Odysseus’ way. Roseate paired pearls with celestial forms to show the connection between the sea and sky. Cloud chose Tahitian and white and blue akoya pearls to evoke the water that both challenges and guides Odysseus, she says.
“The Odyssey is filled with symbols of courage, perseverance, and homecoming that naturally aligned with our design philosophy,” Cloud says.
Cloud says Roseate showcases pearls for a new generation. She also uses her New York City–based jewelry brand to support environmental organizations, partnering with Billion Oyster Project, Water.org, and Conservation International on ocean-themed designs that raise money for the groups’ efforts.
