REEDS Jewelers of Wilmington, N.C., presented the Citizen
Watch Company of Japan with an $11,200 donation to benefit the employees and
families affected by the recent earthquake and tsunami in Japan.
REEDS Jewelers president and CEO Alan M. Zimmer and senior
watch buyer Jacqui Satterfield presented the donation at Baselworld. The
donation is a combination of over 150 REEDS individual employee contributions
that were then matched by REEDS corporate headquarters.
“Citizen Watch Company continues to be a great partner of
REEDS Jewelers and has always been there for us in times of need. We hope this
donation will show our thanks and gratitude towards the employees of Citizen,”
Zimmer said in a statement.
Jewelers for Children, the New York Diamond District, Shane
Co., and other jewelers are also making donations for relief efforts in Japan.
