After what the Israel Diamond Exchange (IDE) called a “tense election campaign,” which featured two rounds of voting, Boaz Moldawsky (pictured) was elected the bourse’s new president.
Moldawsky, 54, serves as joint CEO of the Moldawsky Group. He is a second-generation diamantaire whose family was among the founders of the Israeli diamond industry.
He has also served as vice president of the Israel Diamond Exchange and chairman of the Israel Diamond Institute.
He takes over from Yoram Dvash, who decided not to run for a third term to concentrate on his new role as head of the World Federation of Diamond Bourses.
“It is an honor and privilege for me to lead the exchange in the coming years, and especially during such a complex and challenging period for the industry,” said Moldawsky in a statement. “The Diamond Exchange represents a key sector of the Israeli economy and I am convinced that we will bring it to renewed growth.”
