JCK Jewelry Agenda: Week of Nov. 30

Hope you had a great Thanksgiving because the holiday rush is officially here! Assuming you have time to do anything but deal with customers and orders, here’s what we have this week: Cool shopping events in Hong Kong, New York’s Hudson Valley, and downtown Seattle; an IG Live with Julie Lamb and yours truly (hi!); and some Plumb new podcasts.

Julie Lamb Piece of Work Instagram Live: Nov. 30, 5 p.m. ET

Julie Lamb Amy Elliott
Amy Elliott (bottom), author of JCK’s All That Glitters blog, will be the featured guest on designer Julie Lamb’s IG Live series this Monday.

If our industry had an award for “Most Likely to Have Her Own Talk Show” New York–based designer Julie Lamb would be a sure thing. Her Instagram Live series Be Herd, produced in collaboration with Metal & Smith, was an essential quarantine survival tool for many of us. Her latest IG Live project is Piece of Work, weekly casual one-on-one chats with industry friends who are familiar with her work and are as passionate about jewelry and as engaged with the world as she is. Her guest this Monday is…me! Tune in to @julielambny where we’ll be kibitzing about all the things, including the book I wrote with Mark Patterson.

Alex Sepkus charms
Expect Alex Šepkus classics (Candy rings, anyone?) and plenty of new options such as these gorgeous charms. Just guessing, but the opal heart may be among the first to go. (Image via @foxsseattle)

We’ll assume you’re familiar with acclaimed designer Alex Šepkus and can appreciate why a trunk show of his workshop’s finest creations is an opportunity not to be missed. Fox’s Seattle, which has been carrying the Alex Šepkus line for more than 30 years, will have heaps of jewels on hand this week and is offering special pricing during this rare event. Appointments required; book here.
