Hamilton Jewelers Expands With Its Take on a Luxury Home and Gift Store

Share

The only thing better than shopping at a jewelry store for yourself is receiving something from one as a gift—and that is why jewelry stores like Hamilton Jewelers have long stocked specialty gifts and decorative items alongside diamonds and gems.

Hamilton Jewelers stepped it up one more level as part of the Princeton, N.J., brand’s 110th anniversary celebration, opening its first dedicated giftware store in late 2022. Hamilton Home is an extension of the luxurious gift-giving tradition the fourth-generation business is known for, says executive vice president Anne Russell.

“Helping our clients find the perfect gift and offering options at all different price points has always been an important part of our business since our founding over 110 years ago, and that doesn’t just translate to fine jewelry and watches,” Russell says.

Hamilton Jewelers expanded to create a specialty home goods and gift store, which also came as the venerable brand is celebrating 110 years in business.

“Home decor and luxury gifts have historically been located within our main flagship location. As we renovated and opened new dedicated boutiques for Rolex, Patek Philippe, and Cartier, we determined that we needed to extend into a new, dedicated space,” Russell says.

“Clients in our community have always come to Hamilton for gifts for special occasions, and we realized that they could be better served if we built out a dedicated home store with expanded assortments as part of the Hamilton family of brands,” Russell adds.

Hamilton Home features everything from antiques to wedding gifts to entertaining items as well as linens, a bar shop, home decor, and a seasonal shop. Russell says merchandising the new home store has been part of the fun.

Hamilton Home is there not only to help its customers buy presents but also to furnish their own kitchens, dining rooms, and overall lifestyle, says brand executive vice president Anne Russell.

“I actually started my career in New York City as a buyer with Bergdorf Goodman and Saks Fifth Avenue in decorative home, so it’s a category I am very familiar with and really enjoy,” Russell says. “I have built relationships over the years and was able to tap into that as we started to think about the curation of a new space and designs.”

The store features brands such as Baccarat, Ginori 1735, Simon Pearce, William Yeoward, Juliska, and John Derian.

“For us, it’s about creating the ultimate shopping experience for clients, so everything has its place, and, of course, we believe in beautiful merchandising, so it really is a joy to browse and shop,” Russell says. “The store will be organized by baby gifts, home decor, entertaining items, wedding gifts, stationery, and linens, plus vintage and exclusive one-of-a-kind items.”

Hamilton Jewelers now has what it calls a brand portfolio, which includes its new home store and three freestanding Hamilton Jewelers boutiques—one in Princeton, N.J., and two in Palm Beach, Fla. Its specialty store, H1912, is also in Princeton and features vintage fine jewelry and watches.

“We have been so pleased with the success over the holiday season. We opened a little later than expected due to construction delays, but after a few private shopping days with friends of the brand we opened to the public and it has been a wonderful reception from the community,” Russell says.

“We are thankful that so many loyal and new clients have liked the concept and the store, and we are very excited to continue to grow in 2023.”
