The celebrated jeweler and the iconic chocolatier, known for its Belgian confections presented in deluxe gold ballotins, have entered a multiyear collaboration that’s premiering exclusively at Kay Jewelers. And the whole thing looks pretty sweet.
Given that Le Vian’s Chocolate Diamonds are one of its most recognizable brand signatures, a partnership with a chocolate company seems long overdue. Le Vian’s relationship with Godiva goes back at least three years, according to the brand; in many ways, the grand unveiling is perfectly timed, since Valentine’s Day is just a few weeks away. It’s a holiday that tends to prompt the appearance of candy and jewelry, making each of the three pendants a gift that’s delicious on multiple levels (although the baubles are not, in fact, edible, which is just as well—these diamond-encrusted indulgences will last much longer!).
The inaugural collaboration comprises a trio of special-edition necklaces inspired by some of Godiva’s most beloved bonbons, from stripy coated truffles to plump heart shapes filled with ganache.
“For 2022, Le Vian forecasted Chocolate Diamonds as the obsession of the year,” said brand CEO Eddie LeVian in a statement. “The Godiva x Le Vian collaboration is our first creative interpretation of the power, pleasure, and wonder of chocolate. This collection of delectable Chocolate Diamond jewels…[was] made with love to be savored by Valentines this year.”
“The Le Vian collection at Kay is a customer favorite with new meaningful launches every year,” added Tonia Zehrer, senior vice president and chief merchandising officer at Signet Jewelers, parent company of Kay, in a statement. “The Godiva x Le Vian partnership is a natural fit, who wouldn’t want delicious premium chocolate with beautiful jewelry to match?”
Accompanying the launch is a forthcoming advertising campaign titled “The Finer Things,” featuring mouthwatering photography designed to transport viewers to a lavish chocolate banquet. Save us a seat!
