At Christie’s Paris this week, London-based Swiss jeweler Cora Sheibani brought together creations from across her career to share with the French public.
The exhibition, which was open July 4 through today, coincided with Paris Haute Couture Week—a strategic decision, Sheibani says, as she hoped attendees interested in art, design, and jewelry would visit and learn more about her work.
“There was a real sense of positivity throughout the week, and it was a wonderful experience to make my Paris debut at Christie’s during Couture Week,” Sheibani tells JCK. “I chose to present a carefully curated selection of pieces from my oeuvre of over 20 years, allowing people to really focus on each creation. Sometimes, less is more.”
Sheibani crafts both design-led pieces, where her artistry is the attention grabber, and more traditional jewels, where gemstones take center stage. Her jewelry is influenced by science, history, and gemology, in their form, color, and unusual gemstone combinations.

If this all sounds academic and too artistic, then the Christie’s exhibition has been even more important to Sheibani’s place within the jewelry industry. Her jewelry is Swiss in its precision and European in its high craftsmanship. But it also is playful to the max—you can see nature’s influences as well, like in her Fern earrings, with green aluminum leaves growing out of a garnet and jasper flowerpot.
“Things may look simple, but they’re often really complex to make,” Sheibani said in an interview with Christie’s in advance of the exhibition.
Here are some of Sheibani’s pieces that have been on display at Christie’s Paris.
