Is getting a manicure on your to-do list today? It’s definitely on mine—one of the last, but most important things one does before departing for Luxury and JCK Las Vegas. The color and condition of your nails matters greatly in the days ahead, especially if you plan to shoot and share any content that involves the handling of jewelry.
If you really want to stop thumbs on Instagram, may I suggest you check out @gelhiigh for ideas? Here you will find the fine work of Annie Phimmachack, of the Nashville, Tenn.–based Parlour & Juke salon.
If it seems totally arbitrary that I’m highlighting this feed in particular, it’s not: I started following this nail artist after Danielle Miele, (aka @gemgossip), also based in Nashville, recently gave her a shout-out.
As you’ve probably, noticed Miele has some of the best-looking nails in our social media community of jewelry pros, who are generally a great source of mani inspiration, including two of my personal mani muses (though TBH, I lack the skills and resources): @GemologyGeek (get to know here even better here) and the always en pointe @DanaBronfman.
But the pro nail art created by @gelhiigh is so next-level, so wonderfully extra, that I couldn’t wait to showcase her work in my annual mani inspo roundup here on All That Glitters. Some examples to explain:
Wish I could make a pitstop in Nashville on my way out west, but for now, admiring Phimmachack’s unique take on lacquers and lusters and textures (and teeny tiny flowers and stripes!) from afar will have to do.
Excited to scroll through #vegasmani between now and Thursday, when I arrive, to see what ya got (oh, and be sure to share the #jckshoes you’re packing, too). By the way, I am moderating a panel on art jewelry Thursday at 5 p.m.
See you soon!
Top: Absolutely in love with this look. The gold-flecked red roses feel very Dorothy Draper (all images via: @gelhiigh).
