Zenith and Fusalp Release the Ultimate Watch and Skiwear Capsule

Share

Zenith and French luxury skiwear brand Fusalp, which is celebrating its 70th anniversary, have teamed up to create the ultimate limited-edition collection comprising two timepieces and a range of skiwear items. Both legacy brands with a rich history, the collaboration came about naturally. “The mastery of time and movement [is] embodied by Zenith, as [the] inventor of the world’s first automatic chronograph movement in 1969. Two years earlier Fusalp invented the first competition ski suit, with France’s national ski team going on to win seven gold medals at the Portillo Alpine World Championships in 1966,” Fusalp CEO Alexandre Fauvet said in a statement. “These feats shape Fusalp and Zenith as pioneers, who nurture the precision for exceptional products, which are designed with refined modernity, accuracy, and craftsmanship.’’

The Defy Classic Fusalp, a unisex sport watch, seamlessly combines the two worlds with an openwork dial showcasing Zenith’s signature five-pointed star motif in a snowflake shape in the tricolor tones associated with Fusalp. It also features a 41 mm ceramic case and Elite 670 high-frequency automatic movement. With one in black and one in white, the pieces pair perfectly with the all-black-and-white skiwear collection.

“More than just a fashion house, Fusalp [is an] innovator. Their never-ending quest to produce highly technical yet fashionable clothing is something that Zenith totally relates to,” Zenith CEO Julien Tornare said. The skiwear collection (of suits, jackets, pants, pullovers, and helmets), therefore, perfectly complements the timepieces with details like zippered sleeves for easy access. It ranges from approximately $400 for a pullover to $1,630 for a ski suit.
