Tiffany & Co. announced that it’s added a trio of inspiring women to its pack of global ambassadors. Actresses Anya Taylor-Joy and Tracee Ellis Ross and professional skier and model Eileen Gu are making their debut as house faces in the company’s 2021 Tiffany T1 campaign, entitled “Give Me the T.”
The new ambassadors were shot by veteran fashion photographer Mario Sorrenti in New York City for three vignettes that are “obliquely” centered around the letter T, according to Tiffany & Co. The women will be styled in new and classic T designs that range from small and affordable to opulent oversize (someone will wear the T1 choker that boasts 13 cts. of round brilliant and baguette diamonds).
Ellis Ross’ associations with the legacy jewelry brand date back to her childhood, when she would often “wander through the flagship on Fifth Avenue, imagining myself as a grown woman wearing the bold elegance of Tiffany’s signature diamonds,” she said in a prepared statement. “All these years later, to be the face of this iconic brand and to represent the T1 collection is a dream come true.” Ellis added that shooting the campaign “was a welcome moment of inspiration and glamour after the challenging year that we’ve all experienced.”
Following the T1 campaign, Taylor-Joy and Gu will also star in the “Knot Your Typical City” campaign—again photographed by Sorrenti—for a new jewelry collection Tiffany plans to launch in North America this fall and globally in 2022. In the campaign, Taylor-Joy, Gu, and model Alton Mason pass through city streets “as quintessentially hard-to-impress New Yorkers offer clear nods of approval,” the company shared.
“Wearing a beautiful piece of jewelry, especially one that is meaningful or motivational in a personal sense, is an inexorable feeling—it’s empowering, inspiring, and exciting to express myself, to feel seen and heard without having to utter a single word,” said Gu in the statement. “I’m obsessed with the balance between elegant simplicity and striking boldness that the new T1 collection offers.”
