Thierry Chaunu (pictured), the former vice president of marketing for Cartier and former president of Chopard’s North American divisions, has joined the board of directors of Clikia Corp., the company announced Wednesday.

Clikia, which is publicly traded on the over-the-counter (OTC) exchange, does business through two subsidiaries: Maison Luxe, which sells fine jewelry and watches in both the wholesale and direct-to-consumer markets; and a wholesale venture, Amani Jewelers, which focuses on the lab-grown diamond segment.

Chaunu began his jewelry career as a senior product manager with Cartier in Paris in the 1980s, before being transferred to New York City as vice president of marketing. In 1991, he joined Christofle as president of its North American operations. In 1999, he became president of Chopard’s North American division.

In 2005, he became president and chief operating officer of Leviev Worldwide and launched the retail diamond brand worldwide. He has also worked as CEO of Expression d’Artistes International and as the North American CEO for Mauboussin, as well as run his own consulting company, Brands Consulting, where he helped revive Bulgari’s Marina B brand. In 2012, he joined the Damiani Group as CEO of its Americas division.

“Thierry’s career is a highlight reel of leading firms and prominent roles in the diamond and jewelry space, and we are incredibly fortunate to have him involved at this stage,” said Anil Idnani, CEO of Clikia and founder of Maison Luxe, in a statement. “Thierry’s gravitas in the field will both open up doors and augment our credibility.”

In November 2020, Clikia also added John Cormier, CEO of WatchFacts, a Miami-based service that verifies and authenticates luxury watches, to its board of directors.

Currently, Idnani is Clikia’s sole listed executive, also serving as chief financial officer.

Clikia recently disclosed that it had a “significant non-controlling” stake in lab-grown diamond company Aether.
