Suzanne Kalan’s Tech Ring Jackets Wake Up Wellness Wearables

Wellness rings are getting a glow-up thanks to designer Suzanne Kalan, who says she wanted to use diamond bands to ensure these tech accessories are something her clients like to show off in and out of the gym.

Kalan debuted her tech ring jackets on April 29, with prices ranging from $5,000 to $27,000 for a set of two bands. They’re practical, she says, but they also had to be attractive—finished in rose, white, or yellow gold, their diamonds pavé-set, in special cuts like princess, or in her signature Fireworks setting with round and baguette cuts.

“I love to see people, myself included, taking their health seriously. I also love beautiful things, which is why I designed these rings to complement tech rings,” says Kalan.

Ring jackets are a new category for the Suzanne Kalan jewelry brand. Kalan says she sought to be among the first makers to look at the growing wearable tech accessories market with a designer’s eye.

Her target audience would be health-minded clients who desire “smart” jewelry that’s as stylish as their clothing, whether it’s athleisure wear or a suit for work. Such consumers are willing to invest in discreet luxury, says Kalan, and appreciate elegant accessories.

Designed to frame a tech ring, these jackets are different from other rings in her collection because they required a new kind of engineering to get them to look exactly right, Kalan says. Each pair is crafted to a similar size as popular tech rings such as Oura and the Ultrahuman Rare, so they can be worn as a trio, with the diamond bands fitting snugly alongside a client’s favorite wellness ring.

The tech ring jackets are available on the Suzanne Kalan website or at the Suzanne Kalan display at Harrods. Kalan says the ultimate compliment would be a client wearing the jackets with their rings wherever they go, from school pickup to a gala, gown and all.

“We’ve had such a great reaction, and I hope people will now wear their tech rings with pride— to the gym, out for coffee, and also to keep it on at a party,” she says.
