Virtual Diamond Boutique Debuts VDB Online Auction House

Virtual Diamond Boutique (VDB) has announced the debut of an all-new app for B2B industry auctions—VDB Online Auction House. Along with the release of the app, VDB will host the first-ever lab-grown diamond direct auction as part of a series of inaugural auctions with lab-grown supplier Mercury Ring.

A group of 1,000 loose lab-grown diamonds, IGI certified at 1 carat and higher, along with lab-grown diamond jewelry, will be auctioned Nov. 8–10, with all final bids due by 5 p.m. ET on Nov. 10.

A second Mercury Ring auction on the app will take place in December, with a third lined up for late January 2022.

“VDB is always looking for ways to connect buyers and sellers in a trustworthy environment, using our cutting-edge technology for ease and efficiency,” said Tanya Nisguretsky, president and CEO of Virtual Diamond Boutique, in a statement. “VDB previously launched a successful virtual auction app for the Jewelers for Children charity during the pandemic. Now, we have created an independent platform with no middleman that will facilitate relationships, strengthen the supply chain, and create more business for all involved.”

The new online auction house will also offer vendors a platform to sell their goods directly, for a simple leasing fee.

Royal Chain 2021–22 Catalog Ships to Retailers

Royal Chain has announced that its much-anticipated annual catalog has been shipped and will arrive at retailers this month.

Featuring more than 550 pages, this year’s catalog highlights new collections in gold, sterling silver, and the branded collection Phillip Gavriel. While the catalog was previewed to retailers during August’s Las Vegas Jewelry Week, it will arrive in their stores just in time for the holiday season.

“Our industry may be small and not closely paid attention to by the outside world, but not only it is surviving, it is thriving at a pace not seen in years,” said Royal Chain vice president Phillip Gabriel Maroof in a statement. “We continue with our mission to support the thousands of retailers across the country who rely on us. If we have learned anything over the last two years, it is that jewelry provides a little glimmer of hope even during some of the most pressing times.”

The catalog can be seen here.
