AGTA GemFair Las Vegas and JCK Announce Partnership for Next 3 Years

The JCK show, along with the American Gem Trade Association (AGTA), announced an agreement for the AGTA GemFair Las Vegas to have a home at the JCK show in Las Vegas through 2025. AGTA GemFair Las Vegas will be located on the main floor next to the Luxury and Plumb Club pavilions at The Venetian Expo.

“This is exciting news for AGTA and our members, especially after such a successful first day at JCK,” said Kimberly Collins, AGTA president, in a statement. “We have been working with JCK over the past few months to bring all our members back under the GemFair umbrella starting in 2023. We want to thank Sarin Bachmann, group vice president of RX Jewelry Group, and the entire JCK team for working with us to develop a contract that allows us to do that.”

Though AGTA has been a part of the JCK shows in years prior, its participation through the AGTA GemFair started with the show’s residence at The Venetian. “We’ve been in several locations in Las Vegas, with JCK and without,” said Collins. “We’ve learned that being an anchor at the JCK show is the right fit for AGTA members and allows us to provide a unique shopping experience for JCK buyers.”

The 2023 AGTA GemFair Las Vegas will feature loose colored gemstone and cultured pearl dealers, colored gemstone jewelry designers, and, for the first time, a Fine Gems pavilion.

“As the industry’s largest and leading jewelry trade destination, continuing to be a one-stop shopping experience from all segments of the industry and around the globe is an important element of the value and convenience JCK delivers to the industry,” said Sarin Bachmann in a statement. “We are thrilled to bring an important partner such as AGTA back into the fold with an expanded long-term commitment. We received great feedback on having AGTA back at JCK and are excited to let the industry know they can count on finding AGTA at JCK in Las Vegas for many more years ahead!”

VDB Announces New Partnership With Jewelers Board of Trade

The Virtual Diamond Boutique (VDB) recently announced a new partnership with the Jewelers Board of Trade (JBT) to launch JBT’s first application program interface (API), making credit information instantly available on the digital marketplace for both buyers and sellers.

The new API integration gives JBT members using the VDB app access to credit information on the go, creating a transparent digital environment for VDB buyers and sellers to enable more business with greater confidence and credibility.

“Having the highly respected JBT credit ratings available on the VDB app will add a layer of security and credibility to our digital marketplace,” said Tanya Nisguretsky, CEO of VDB, in a statement. “Our industry-specific technological experts have created a unique usage for the new JBT API that aligns perfectly with the need for more transparency in our increasingly digital world. It also streamlines the process, making it easy and efficient for vendors to accept buy/memo/hold requests, even when out of the office.”

Sellers and buyers will now be able to run credit reports and obtain credit ratings on potential buyers/suppliers within the VDB app, and JBT members who are signed into their VDB accounts will be able to login to the JBT member portal to access credit information without leaving the app. All JBT members will be identified with the JBT logo in various places on the app, and non-JBT members will be encouraged to register for a JBT account within the VDB app.

“As the fine jewelry industry adapts to modern ways of doing business, JBT has responded with new products like the API to better serve our members’ changing needs and to integrate with their internal systems,” said Erich Jacobs, president of JBT, in a statement. “VDB and JBT worked hand in hand to build this system, and VDB became the first JBT member to take advantage of our new API—effectively allowing the VDB platform to integrate with JBT’s existing databases seamlessly.”
