GJEPC Announces New York, Dubai, and Jaipur Event Opportunity for Jewelers

The Gem & Jewellery Export Promotion (GJEPC) has announced a schedule of upcoming events, offering opportunities for jewelers to showcase their goods, meet with brands, and more.

In New York, the Taste of India Week at the Diamond Dealers Club will take place Aug. 15–18, coinciding with the JA NY and Melee shows. Jewelers may apply to attend the event for the opportunity to receive an expenses-paid hosted invitation to the Dubai and/or Jaipur shows, scheduled for Nov. 8–10 and April 4–6, 2023, respectively.

Those jewelers who follow up with their contacts from the New York event may have the option to visit local jewelry factories and tourist attractions, stay at a five-star hotel, and receive meals and a travel allowance for the Dubai and Jaipur events.

For more information and to apply for the events, contact Mia Katrin Hartsook (mia@thejewelersmarketer.com) at 828-406-1105 (call or text), or Nancy Robey (nancyrobey@nancyrobeypartnership.com).

Smiling Rocks Awarded the Butterfly Mark

The New York–based lab-grown diamond jewelry brand Smiling Rocks announced recently that it has been awarded the Butterfly Mark, a certification powered by Positive Luxury for excellence across areas of  environmental, social, and governance practices, innovation, and philanthropy.

The assessment process took 18 months to complete, and the certification was awarded just in time for the 2022 JCK Las Vegas show—a fact that was showcased at Smiling Rocks’ booth.

“We are very excited to get the Butterfly Mark by Positive Luxury,” said Zulu Ghevriya, cofounder of Smiling Rocks, in a statement. “We have gone through lots of stages and worked behind our sustainable goals from using recyclable/recycled and biodegradable materials in our packaging and displays, implementing our business with recycling systems in global offices, our giving-back movement, and our policies in the company to become a carbon-neutral brand in the near future.”

“It is not an easy task to receive the Butterfly Mark” said Kishwar Mehmood, global brand director of Smiling Rocks, also in a statement. “Our brand was glad to receive passing grades on its environmental, social, governance, and innovation (ESG+ Framework) and after a lengthy process, we are proud of our accolade.”
