Greenland Ruby Introduces Virtual Showroom, RubyCloud

Greenland Ruby, miner of rubies and pink sapphires, has announced RubyCloud, a real-time live-inventory feed developed by GemCloud, offering jewelry manufacturers, designers, and retailers first access to an extensive inventory of cut, polished, and responsibly sourced gems from Greenland.

The new online marketplace is accessible 24/7 and is updated as each new gem becomes available for sale, with 360-degree views and high-quality, “true-to-the-eye” photos.

“Greenland Ruby has entered a new digital era of gemstone dealing, and one I truly believe to be an industry game changer,” said Greenland Ruby chief commercial officer Hayley Henning in a statement. “In what I also believe to be yet another first for our company, we are excited to be able to display our entire inventory online and ship to almost every corner of the globe. RubyCloud has been in the works for quite some time, but the last two years have really proved that a digital inventory viewing and buying platform is a necessity. RubyCloud will allow each and every gemstone from Greenland Ruby to be searched and ‘seen,’ giving our customers the opportunity to make selections and purchases according to their jewelry collections and/or design requirements.”

For Greenland Ruby’s mine-to-market strategy, the company has digitized its entire inventory and is able to map the journey of every gem from the mine in Greenland to its online marketplace. RubyCloud is specifically designed to fit this strategy and comes at a time when more and more consumers are asking for evidence that the gems they are purchasing are responsibly sourced.

VDB To Host 2nd Mercury Ring Event On Its Auction House App

For the second time, Virtual Diamond Boutique (VDB) will host a new lab-grown diamond auction featuring Mercury Ring on its enhanced VDB Online Auction House app.

Mercury Ring, a lab-grown diamond supplier and a division of Unique Designs Inc., is set to offer approximately 1,000 high-quality loose lab-grown diamonds—IGI certified 1 carat and higher—at auction Feb. 15–17. All final bids are due Feb. 17 at 5 p.m. ET.

Users of the app will now be able to submit bids by total price, per-carat price, or discount percentage, a new functionality that “promotes efficiency and savings in a secure environment for industry buyers looking to acquire top-quality lab-grown diamonds at deeper discounts than normal distribution channels,” according to a press release.

“We are excited to launch the second in our series of lab-grown diamond auctions with VDB. Our goal is to make our top-quality laboratory-grown diamonds accessible to the industry in a secure and affordable way,” said Ateet Shah, president of Mercury Ring, in a statement.

As a special promotion, all retailers who download and register for the VDB Online Auction House app will receive a onetime offer to buy a 1 carat Mercury Ring lab-grown diamond for $500 per carat.
