Sophie Quy has been appointed international CEO of Los Angeles–based designer Suzanne Kalan.
Quy most recently was executive vice president at Threads Styling. She also served as its commercial director, and head of fine jewelry and watches.
Prior to that, Quy worked at Net-a-Porter, where she spearheaded the launch of fine jewelry and watches, introducing Chanel, Chopard, and Tiffany & Co. She has also worked as a fine jewelry buyer for Harrods, the U.K. department store.
Quy won a Jewelers of America Gem Award for retail excellence in 2019.
This spring Suzanne Kalan will open its first stand-alone store, in Kuwait. In 2020 it opened its first boutique in Harrods.
“It is such an exciting time for fine jewelry right now with so much attention and focus on the category from retailers and consumers,” Quy said in a statement. “I am looking forward to being part of the continued expansion of this incredible brand outside of the United States.”
