Sotheby’s East Hampton Hosts Solange Azagury-Partridge Sales Exhibition

It’s officially summer, and for some, that means a trip to the Hamptons is in order.

One such traveler hails from London and is making her big return to the U.S. jewelry market after four years away—Solange Azagury-Partridge, founder of the eponymous brand Solange.

Azagury-Partridge, alongside Frank Everett, jewelry and style adviser at the Stax and jewelry expert and SVP of Sotheby’s jewelry, is currently hosting a sales exhibition of some of her most memorable creations. It runs through Sunday at Sotheby’s in East Hampton, N.Y.

“For my return to New York, I chose some of my favorite pieces, all showcasing my love of color, diamonds, and concept,” said the designer in a statement.

” ‘Iconoclastic’, ‘irreverent,’ and ‘phenomenal’ are just three of the ways jewelry designer Solange Azagury-Partridge’s aesthetic approach has been described in her 30 years at the cutting-edge of design,” said Sotheby’s of the event. “With no formal training and a much-admired engagement ring she designed back in 1987, the only rule Solange applies to everything she has created ever since is to subvert the expectations of how precious stones and metals should be combined. Who else could dream up a diamond ring that spins around your finger?”

Attendees to the exhibition, which opened Thursday, should expect to be wowed by some of the designer’s most iconic pieces, like a version of her Hotlips ring bedazzled in pavé rubies, and the recognizable Poptails Temple ring in an array of enamel and rainbow gemstones (shown above).

“I have been a big fan of Solange since first seeing her designs in the late ’90s,” said Frank Everett in a statement. “Several years ago I visited her London salon, where we spent a gorgeous, rainy afternoon talking about jewelry, interior design, and life in general, and we have been friends ever since. To showcase her beautiful collection in Sotheby’s East Hampton gallery is a dream summer project for me, and something we’ve talked about for years, so I’m happy to finally see it come to fruition.”
