Pinterest Introduces Pin Promotion, Shoppable Streaming Series

Pinterest just made it easier for users to boost their content on the platform. “With a few taps, creators, small businesses, and everyday users can promote their pins to expand reach, connect with audiences, and drive results,” Pinterest said in its announcement about Promote a Pin, a new feature the app is rolling out “over the coming weeks.”

Promote a Pin enables even non-tech-savvy Pinterest users to advertise their products, as it relies on the app’s Taste Graph, a propriety AI model trained on billions of images, videos, and text to help businesses connect with users most interested in their content and offerings.

Pinterest has also announced a new shoppable streaming series, “Bring My Pinterest to Life.” On the show, users’ boards lead to real transformations of their personal style, wardrobe, home decor, or workspace. QR codes in each episode link to curated Pinterest boards filled with shoppable products, DIY instructions, and images from the show for inspiration.

“Whether you’re dreaming of a home update, a killer party, or a confidence-boosting glow-up, you’ll find inspiration and practical advice with this show to launch your own creative journey that starts on Pinterest,” said Malik Ducard, the platform’s chief content officer, in a statement.

TikTok’s Latest Campaign to Boost Engagement

TikTok continues to push in-app shopping with its new “Watch It. Love It. Want It.” initiative. “The campaign captures what happens on TikTok every day,” according to a company announcement. “People come to be entertained and to discover what’s new.

“When something catches their attention, they don’t just scroll past—they watch. When they connect with it, they share it, talk about it, and make it their own. And when they love it, they act on it.”

TikTok said that search activity is up 40% from last year, and that one in four users began searching within 30 seconds of opening the app. “Two in three say they use TikTok because they discover useful things beyond what they originally set out to find,” it noted.

Instagram Carousels Can Be Rearranged Post-Publishing

Instagram is now letting users redo the order of photos in their carousels after publishing, which gives ’Grammers more control over the content displayed on their grids. This capability has been one of its most requested changes, the platform said.

“You have the flexibility to change the order of your carousel content at any time, ensuring your post always reflects your creative vision,” Instagram said in a Threads post.
