San Antonio–based Shetler Fine Jewelers, has acquired Medlars Jewel Masters, a state-of-the-art facility (also located in San Antonio) that is well-known for its jewelry restoration, design, and creation. Terms of the deal weren’t disclosed.

Founded in 1975 and purchased by M. Chapman Stout in 1996, Medlars Jewel Masters has earned a reputation for technological advancements in the industry. As for the acquisition, Stout says it comes at a perfect time. “Though we have loved every minute of our 46-year history, having a company like Shetler Fine Jewelers take over the reins is a dream come true for us,” he said in a statement. “We know our clients will be well taken care of, and the work our jewelers will continue to create for our clientele will be top-notch. Collectively cultivating thousands of satisfied clients over the years is a testament to both our companies’ commitments to delivering an elevated and ever-evolving customer service experience.”

Two master jewelers and one on-site designer have been added to the existing Shetler Fine Jewelers’ all-female sales staff. To accommodate the additional staff, Shetler Fine Jewelers’ headquarters has undergone extensive renovations, which include adding a viewing area to observe custom and repair work and a private room dubbed Shetler Privé for VIP clients. Medlars also brings to the table numerous top-of-the-line custom and repair equipment.

“We are now able to provide an end-to-end experience for clients and expertly manage every touch point in the custom jewelry process to improve efficiencies,” said Shetler owner Michelle Shetler in a statement. “Adding the expertise of Medlars’ master jewelers means that we will be able to join two teams with a shared vision of delivering exquisite fine jewelry to amazing clients. We’re honored to continue Medlars’ tradition of taking care of their existing clients, while also growing our offerings and skill sets.”
