Responsible Jewellery Council Has Two Chair Candidates

Share

The board of the Responsible Jewellery Council (RJC) has nominated two candidates for chair: Edward Asscher (pictured), retired president of Royal Asscher, and Dave Meleski, president and CEO of Richline.

Voting on the candidates began Feb. 5 and will end Feb. 28. RJC will announce the new chair at its general meeting on March 4.

Asscher, former president of the World Diamond Council, is currently RJC’s vice chair.

The new chair will take over from David Bouffard of Signet Jewelers, who is stepping down as RJC chair in March after six years.

“Both candidates would bring tremendous amounts of industry knowledge and experience to the position,” said Bouffard in an RJC email.
