It may seem nutty, but with pistachio trending as a color this summer, that green-yellow hue is taking over fashion through handbags, light-as-a-feather apparel, and, of course, people’s choice of jewelry.
Jewelry designer Tanya Farah is a fan. She recently created a ring featuring a green amethyst where the color is decidedly Soft Girl Summer–worthy, a feminine and calm tone that makes the gold used in her Tree of Life Honeycomb ring seem to glow.
“I adore the color pistachio—it reminds me of the gentle whispers of leaves in nature,” says Farah, founder and designer for her eponymous brand. “It fills me with joy to see it becoming so beloved by others too.”

We collectively knew it was coming—news publications from Bloomberg to Harper’s Bazaar to InStyle have had articles and headlines touting the color. “Heads Up—Pistachio Green Is the New Color Trend Coming for Your Wardrobe,” Elle magazine warned this spring. Its editors called the “gelato-esque green” a trend among Fendi, Chloé, and other major fashion houses.
(Look, they tried to push butter yellow on everyone this year as well, so let’s take the “W” and go with pistachio, which is much easier to wear and has a chance of at least matching the matcha everyone is carrying.)
Color experts Figma put pistachio in the warm green section of the color wheel, “leaning slightly toward yellow,” the experts say. Its name comes from the nut, which is said to “evoke a sense of freshness and growth,” Figma stated. Best of all, you can combine it with complementary colors such as lilac, chocolate, and mint green—all summertime favorites. And maybe also great gelato flavors? We digress.
Lionheart designer Joy Haugaard says her brand uses pistachio in its jewelry because…why not use it? She says it is trending because it makes you think of nature and elegance. Plus, it is refreshing to see something unique among classic jewelry or traditional tones.

“Pistachio-colored jewelry feels fresh, modern, and effortlessly versatile,” Haugaard says. “Its soft, creamy green tone adds a subtle yet distinctive pop of color, pairing beautifully with everything from neutrals to vibrant shades.”
Even the venerable Oscar Heyman, which seeks to set trends rather than follow them, says pistachio is a worthy hue within its own color wheel. So, banish the blue. Pink is so passé. While summer is still in full swing, it’s time to get with the green and add some pistachio to your jewelry wardrobe or jewelry-store cases.
“Green gemstones are popular here at Oscar Heyman. Beyond our selection of exceptional emeralds, pistachio-colored gemstones like chrysoberyl and lighter shades of tsavorite or the distinctive hue of sphene make delightful additions to our rainbow of gemstone offerings,” says Oscar Heyman president Tom Heyman.
“Unlike other brands, we often set our green gems in platinum, not just yellow gold,” Heyman adds. “Platinum is a big part of our history and heritage, and it adds a cooling factor to the green stones, giving them a distinct and beautiful sparkle.”
Here are some of my favorite pistachio-flavored jewelry pieces.
