And in a word, it’s flawless.
Literally—the auction house’s new online selling platform is called Flawless. Launching today, it’s a curated program of sought-after pieces for private sale informed by Phillips’ understanding of what the market demands.
The debut is headlined by a bespoke high and fine jewelry collection from celebrated British jewelry designer Shaun Leane.
Best known for his groundbreaking collaborations with Alexander McQueen as well as Boucheron and Daphne Guinness—and recently covered in JCK on the occasion of a book chronicling his body of work—Leane said in a statement that he sees the Phillips collaboration as the start of an exciting journey:
“I am delighted to partner with Phillips on the launch of Flawless – it is a wonderful platform to showcase our fine and high jewelry. [Its] unrivaled reputation for celebrating pioneers of contemporary art and design is a deeply flattering testament to my work and it will be a huge honor to exhibit in such a dynamic and prestigious setting.”
Paul Redmayne, head of private sales, jewelry, added: “As we continue our mission of championing the best in jewelry design, it is an honor to celebrate the launch with…Shaun Leane, a remarkable innovator and trailblazer. His genre-defining jewels have a powerful, emotive and often poignant beauty—reflecting the romance, unstoppable force and compelling contradictions of the natural world.”
In addition to showcasing the jewelers of today and tomorrow—“giving them their rightful voice in what is traditionally a heritage market,” according to Redmayne—Flawless will focus on fulfilling specific sourcing and selling requests from private individuals, collectors, and organizations, whether it’s an engagement ring, a Cartier Tutti Frutti bracelet, or an investment-grade blue diamond.
Below, a peek at some of the Shaun Leane pieces available on Flawless, which will also be on view at the Phillips gallery in Southampton, N.Y., starting Oct. 15.

Above all, I want my jewels to give a woman the freedom to be who she wants to be.” Set of three Aurora rings featuring rhodolite garnet, morganite, and amethyst center stones amid pavé rubies and purple sapphires in 18k white gold, $20,800Follow JCK on Instagram: @jckmagazine
