Patek Philippe’s Largest-Ever Watch Art Grand Exhibition Opens Oct. 2 in Milan

Patek Philippe’s Watch Art Grand Exhibition, the largest the manufacturer has organized to date, opens Oct. 2 in Milan and will coincide with the launch of Italy-dedicated limited editions that, based on previous editions, will be allocated exclusively through Italian authorized dealers.

At the 2023 Tokyo exhibition, the six limited editions—including a quadruple complication combining minute repeater, split-seconds chronograph, perpetual calendar, and a new World Time with a date display synchronized to local time—were available only to the Japanese market. The 2017 New York edition followed the same model.

All the specific Milan pieces have not been disclosed, but one confirmed Rare Handcrafts piece—the enameled Dome Clock Ref. 20179M-001 “Sicilian Oranges,” depicting a panoramic view of Palermo with an orange grove in the foreground—signals the type of Italy-themed visual language Patek typically extends into the limited-edition timepieces. Also confirmed is the Patek Philippe “Burano” pocket watch, Ref. 992/193J-001, a yellow gold piece featuring a hand-painted enamel dial representing the water surrounding Venice’s Burano island. Previous exhibition pieces have featured cloisonné enamel dials depicting the host city’s geography and complications chosen for local resonance, and have outperformed secondary market benchmarks in the 12 to 18 months following release.

The exhibition itself spans 2,540 square meters at a 1923 sports pavilion redesigned as part of Milan’s CityLife development, with more than 500 timepieces on display, including historic pieces from the Patek Philippe Museum, the complete current collection, and live Rare Handcrafts demonstrations. The Grandmaster Chime and Sky Moon Tourbillon anchor a dedicated grand complications room.

The exhibit is free admission but with reservations required at watchart2026.patek.com. It’s open daily 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. through Oct. 18, with the final Sunday extending to 8 p.m.
