Share

Mercedes Abramo (pictured), who currently serves as president and CEO of Cartier North America, will join Cartier International as deputy chief commercial officer, effective March 1.

The promotion makes Abramo a member of the Cartier International executive committee. She will be based in Geneva.

Walter Bolognino will take over as Cartier North America president and CEO, also March 1. He will report to Abramo.

Bolognino joins Cartier North America from Bulgari, where he most recently oversaw operations across Europe and the Middle East. Before that, he served for more than five years as president and CEO of Bulgari Japan.

In Abramo’s new role as deputy chief commercial officer, she will define and implement strategies for Cartier regions around the world. She will also oversee the brand’s global commercial performance, network development, and pricing strategies.

She will report to Renaud Litré, group chief platforms officer and senior vice president, chief commercial officer, for Cartier International.

Abramo joined Cartier North America more than 14 years ago. Before her current position, she served as director of its flagship Fifth Avenue store in New York City and vice president of retail. In 2020, she was honored at Jewelers for Children’s annual Facets of Hope event at the JCK show.
