Martin Blank (pictured), the former president of Joseph Blank who was instrumental in fostering the melee diamond trade between India and the United States, died on May 25. He was 91.
Blank worked in the jewelry industry for five decades, first with his father, Joseph, and then with children Marjorie and Douglas.
A family obituary called him “a straightforward gentleman that tirelessly upheld the integrity of an industry that worked on just a handshake. He was a mentor to many.”
Martin Blank is survived by his three children, Stacy, Marjorie, and Douglas, as well as his four grandchildren and a great-granddaughter.
