Like architecture, one could say jewelry is the ultimate connection between form and function. And that is just where Kendra Scott wanted to land with her first foray into watches, giving her customers something that not only looks beautiful but also serves its purpose in a meaningful way.
Add in dials featuring inlaid stone, mother-of-pearl, turquoise magnesite, and abalone, and you have the makings of a dramatic accessory that also tells time.
“We are so excited to have created a watch collection that is high-quality, timeless, and uniquely Kendra Scott, utilizing our iconic shapes and affinity for color,” Scott says.
Kendra Scott’s heritage shapes are found within the Watch collection as well, including the Alex, Dira, and Elle. The brand describes the Alex as refined at 35 mm, while the Dira is a petite 28 mm. There’s also the Elle, which features a double-wrap leather strap.
Each watch also has some of the brand’s traditional touches, such as a GIA-certified diamond in the center of its logo medallion at 12 o’clock, which the company says is “a nod to the brand’s love of sparkle, fine craftsmanship, and attention to detail.”
The timing was…well, that, too, was exactly what Scott wanted in terms of a perfect product launch, the longtime jewelry designer and executive chairwoman of the brand says. First, the collection became available online and in stores in mid-April—in time for Mother’s Day as well as to connect to her brand’s 20th anniversary this year.
Just as important, the Kendra Scott Watch collection also comes as people are thinking about how they use other tools, such as social media or smartphones, and how her customers want to feel that their time is spent purposefully and with the people they love.
“Designed with the customer in mind, the Watch collection by Kendra Scott can be layered right alongside her favorite jewelry,” Scott says. “From the diamond in each timepiece to the inlaid genuine stone and shell faces, we really wanted to make every detail in these watches feel special.”
The collection includes signature timepieces as well as what the brand calls elevated watch bands that are compatible with the Apple Watch series. Adding watches to the Kendra Scott family felt like a natural next step, Scott says, especially at a time when people are reconnecting with family, friends, and their own well-being when it comes to honoring their own time.
The Watch collection by Kendra Scott can be found in Kendra Scott retail stores and online. Price points range from $198 to $328 for watches and $128 to $148 for Kendra Scott bands, which are compatible with the complete Apple Watch series.
