The equestrian-inspired jewelry-maker Karina Brez has opened her first retail location, in Palm Beach, Fla. The store, which opened with a soft launch, has a grand opening scheduled for November.
For Brez, the shop, located at 240 Worth Ave., is the culmination of a lifelong dream. “It has always been my dream to open a Palm Beach store,” the designer said in a statement. “My first and earliest memories are of my parents taking me to walk the streets here, and I admired the windows in amazement, aspiring to one day create something special and worthy enough of being sold here. Decades later, I promised myself that if after 10 years business was successful, I would fulfill that dream.”
Inside the store, showcase towers resemble topiaries, while a geometric crystal chandelier by Currey & Co. provides the lighting. The designer’s signature collections are displayed in a green and gold atelier; among those pieces are Brez’s Huggable Hooves collection, which features nine new bracelet styles as well as three new ring styles. The bracelets, essentially wraparound horse hooves, are available in white, yellow, and rose gold, and can be worn solo or stacked. Some are set with pavé diamonds.
A first generation Ukrainian American, who won the title of Miss Florida USA in 2012, Brez is a graduate of GIA. A regular of Florida’s Wellington Equestrian Center for nearly 10 years, and has been a corporate sponsor of WEF (Winter Equestrian Festival), the Old Salem Spring Show, and the World Equestrian Games.
She has become well-known in the riding world for her horse-inspired designs.
“The beautiful horses I’m surrounded by every day at the showgrounds inspire my designs,” said Brez in the same statement. “With powerful jumps and eloquent landings, they give so much unconditional love to their rider, and the bond between the two is what I try to infuse into my jewelry, which is made with love.”
The Karina Brez store is open by appointment only Saturday through Monday and open to the public Tuesday through Friday.
