Jewelry Brands Raise Funds, Awareness for Breast Cancer This October

Share

Jewelry brands including Marco Bicego, Yearly Co., Gorjana, and Kendra Scott are honoring Breast Cancer Awareness Month this October with new jewelry and fundraising efforts to support the people and organizations affected by breast cancer.

Traditionally, Breast Cancer Awareness Month includes the use of the pink ribbon as its symbol, and its organizers seek to amplify regular cancer screenings for early detection. According to the nonprofit organization Susan G. Komen, U.S. breast cancer death rates have declined by an estimated 44% since the annual campaigns started in 1985.

Komen selected its 2026 theme as “Don’t Fail the Girls” and debuted a national campaign calling on the public to make ending deaths from breast cancer a top priority. It also encourages family and friends to have open conversations around breast health.

“Breast cancer is not over. It is pervasive and this year will be responsible for nearly 43,000 deaths in the United States. We’re losing someone’s mother, daughter, sister, father, friend, or colleague—someone you know and love,” Susan G. Komen CEO Amber Guild said in a statement.

The Marquise Pink Tourmaline Birthstone Bangle ($1,420) and Pink Tourmaline Birthstone Bangle ($1,300) are pieces in the Yearly Co.’s Breast Cancer Awareness jewelry collection.

Nearly 325,000 women and men in the United States are expected to be diagnosed with breast cancer this year, and about every 12 minutes, someone will die from breast cancer, the Komen organization reported.

“That is the urgency of this moment, and it underscores the importance of the work that remains to be done. We still see people diagnosed too young, too late, or without access to the high-quality care they need and deserve,” Guild said. “‘Don’t Fail the Girls’ is our call to make these truths impossible to ignore, and to bring new urgency to the fight to create a future where no one dies from breast cancer.”

October also includes several related days, including Men’s Breast Cancer Awareness Week, which is Oct. 17–23, and National Mammography Day, which typically is honored on the third Friday of the month to encourage people to get screened for breast cancer.

One jewelry designer who donates money raised from its Breast Cancer Awareness collection is Yearly Co. It is donating 10% of the proceeds from its BCA jewelry to VraniCURE, an organization dedicated to funding metastatic breast cancer research, raising awareness, and supporting people living with the disease.

The Yearly Co. collection includes the Double Weight Knot Bangle, the Round Pink Tourmaline Birthstone Bangle, Marquise Pink Tourmaline Birthstone Bangle, Pink Tourmaline Legacy Necklace, Ribbon Bangle, and the VraniCURE Bangle. Yearly Co. will donate 25% of the proceeds from the limited-edition VraniCURE Bangle to the organization.

Yearly Co. founder Ann Williams had breast cancer, and she designed her Knot Bangle with six small diamonds—each representing one of her chemotherapy treatments. The design is a reminder of the strength, resilience, and meaning that jewelry holds for survivors and their families, the company said.
