Jennifer Markas Joins Jewelers Mutual

Jennifer Markas has been named the head of industry relations for Jewelers Mutual Group.

She previously served as executive director of the Women’s Jewelry Association (WJA) from 2019 until this month.

In her new role, Markas will forge partnerships with industry associations and foundations. She will also take a leadership role in the Jewelry Industry Council and at Jewelers Mutual’s signature event Conversations in Park City, which will return for a second year in Deer Valley, Utah, in October.

During her time at WJA, Markas saw significant growth in membership and programming, launched the jewelry industry’s first diversity scholarships, and helped develop the WJA Foundation’s Responsible Sourcing & Sustainability Education Fund. She also worked to advance the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals through various industry partnerships.

Prior to joining WJA, Markas was global sustainability reporting and communications manager at Tiffany & Co., and an adjunct professor at LIM College.

She previously served as vice president at Citi Foundation, the philanthropic arm of Citibank, where she managed an $86 million annual budget for distributing funds to various initiatives.
