Tomorrow is Memorial Day. If you’ll be traveling for the long weekend, pass the time by queuing up some jewelry-centric podcasts, including one to help you prep for the JCK Las Vegas and Luxury shows and another one that plays a little rough (and that’s the whole point!).

What newness can you expect at this year’s 30th anniversary show, which runs June 10–13 at The Venetian Expo? Listen in and you’ll be rewarded with plenty of tips and secrets—including the best lunch deal in town.

Rough Cut Podcast (ongoing)

NYC jewelry week rough cutIf you haven’t been listening to NYC Jewelry Week’s new Rough Cut podcast, start downloading all the episodes now. Hosted by NYCJW cofounder JB Jones and photographer Alain Simic, Rough Cut is exactly what it sounds like—harsh truths and zero you-know-whats given when it comes to imparting advice to jewelers and small business owners. Jones and Simic trade barbs, witticisms, and unedited insights with guests such as designer Lorraine West, creative consultant Elliot Carlyle, and others. On Monday, they’re dropping the newest episode, featuring a conversation with Engagement 101 editor-in-chief Severine Ferarri. The title: “Sex, Rocks and Francophilia.” Who doesn’t want to get into that?

Andrea Hill, founder and CEO of Hill Management Group in Chicago, leads what she described as “a curation of inspiration” on this MJSA webinar designed to reinvigorate creative entrepreneurs. “We are pulling together 10 fantastic ideas from across a spectrum of thought leaders who have shared these ideas in Ted Talks, on YouTube, in previous panel presentations, in quotes, etc.,” Hill tells JCK.
