July Fourth is next Sunday, but many members of the jewelry industry are taking their traditional summer break this week. If you’re headed to the beach, or someplace equally relaxing, the slate of jewelry offerings highlighted below is the perfect form of entertainment.

In the latest episode of JCK’s The Jewelry District podcast, editor-in-chief Victoria Gomelsky and news director Rob Bates speak to Casey Melvin, cofounder and co-CEO of the Future of Jewelry, an online retailer that offers consumers the opportunity to custom design their own accessibly priced signet rings. The conversation ranges from the possibilities of 3D printing to the democratization of custom design and includes several provocative tech-related tangents in between.

If you’re on the fence about attending the jewelry shows in Las Vegas in August, a few episodes of Hacks on HBO Max will persuade you. “The show centers on a comedienne who has a residency in Vegas, and watching it will make you very excited to return to the glitz, the heat, the jingling casinos during your daily walk to the show floor,” says All That Glitters columnist Amy Elliott. “No spoilers, but episode four includes a plotline around a ‘Las Vegas Jewelry Expo’ and it’s tailor-made for jewelry people—someone in our midst must have advised the writer.”
