It’s party time! Three chapters of the Women’s Jewelry Association (WJA)—Twin Cities, Providence, and Los Angeles—are holding their summer mixers this week. If you’re based in or near one of these cities, don’t miss the fabulous networking opportunities. For New Yorkers, an exhibition of designers steeped in the heritage and culture of Saudi Arabia is a fabulous way to learn about cutting-edge Middle Eastern design.

Gem X NYC Event With Cutter Justin Prim: July 31, 3:30 p.m. ET (in person)

Today’s Gem X event with master gem cutter Justin Prim is sold out, but it’s always worth checking to see if there may have been a cancellation. The Bangkok-based cutter, who’s currently visiting New York City, is giving a shortened version of his gem-cutting workshop to a handful of lucky Gem X members. Hosted by Sotheby’s private sales specialist Joanna Gong at her Harlem residence, the workshop will give students a peek inside his secretive world. $75

WJA Twin Cities Summer Social: Aug. 1, 6 p.m. CT (in person)

WJA Providence Summer Social: Aug. 3, 5:30 p.m. ET (in person)

The WJA Providence chapter is hosting its Summer Social on the patio at Iggy’s Boardwalk in Warwick, R.I. Come for the complimentary appetizers and cash bar, and stay for the bonding with your fellow jewelers. Free for members and $20 for guests.

WJA Los Angeles Summer Soiree: Aug. 4, 6 p.m. PT (in person)

WJA LA summer soireeJoin the WJA Los Angeles Chapter, the Diamond Club West Coast, and the Indian Diamond and Colorstone Assocation (IDCA) for a Summer Soiree Industry Mixer, taking place on the mezzanine of V DTLA in the Jewelry District. $25 for members and $25 for guests.

Saudi 100 Brands Exhibition in New York City: Through Aug. 7 (in person)

If you’re based in or near New York City and you’d like to learn more about design from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, check out Saudi 100 Brands, a global traveling exhibition featuring a curated selection of clothing and accessories from 100 Saudi designers. Tasked with creating pieces that reflect Saudi heritage and culture, the designers featured in the exhibition, chosen from a pool of nearly 1,500, specialize in eight categories: ready-to-wear, modest, concept, premiere, demi-couture, bridal, bags, and jewelry. This event marks the first time the initiative has traveled outside of the Middle East.
