LISTEN
The Jewelry District Podcast, Episode 86 (ongoing)
In the latest episode of The Jewelry District, JCK editor-in-chief Victoria Gomelsky and news director Rob Bates place some bets on which trends and tech developments will be most important for the jewelry industry in 2023. Some of the predictions they make include the end of the pandemic, a shakedown in the lab-grown space, growing demands for transparency of sustainability claims, and an increased reliance on AI.
The Plumb Club Podcast (ongoing)
The Plumb Club kicks off its 40th anniversary year with two podcasts dedicated to retailers. In “Lighting Is Essential to a Successful Jewelry Store,” Leslie McGwire, an award-winning interior designer and author who specializes in jewelry store design, provides tips on best in-case lighting, with an eye to helping listeners understand how the proper intensity of light impacts the merchandise and customer perception. Meanwhile, Oren Akhavan, operations manager for Ryan Gems, a second-generation family business, leads an episode focused on the “Rising Popularity in Colored Gemstones,” in which he details the reasons why the gemstone category is growing and how retailers can take advantage of the opportunities.
