JCK Jewelry Agenda: Week of Feb. 11

Share

Jewelers may contend with a hectic start to the week, but after V-Day is over, hopefully there will be time to listen to a podcast, do some online bidding, and attend a networking event or two. Happy Valentine’s Day!

LISTEN

The Jewelry District Podcast, Episode 114 (ongoing)

The Jewelry District logo platinumOn the latest episode of The Jewelry District, JCK editor-in-chief Victoria Gomelsky and news director Rob Bates talk about Victoria’s visit to Miami with Platinum Guild International, where she got the chance to design her own ring and gained a better understanding of the joys and challenges of working with platinum. Rob brings listeners up to speed on an alarming trend of lab-grown diamonds masquerading as naturals through carelessness or deliberate deception—and offers tips to help jewelers protect themselves.

The New York Metro chapter of the Women’s Jewelry Association is holding its first Mix n Mingle of 2024: the Galentine’s edition. Join industry colleagues and friends at the Moxy hotel’s Magic Hour Rooftop bar, where you can toast each other and share your goals for the new year.

WJA San Diego Happy Hour: Feb. 15, 5:30 pm ET (in person)

The WJA San Diego chapter reprises last year’s Hive Mind happy hour event, a casual conversation based on the concept “two heads are better than one.” What kind of clarity could you get with feedback from an insightful group of fellow jewelry industry personnel? Bring up to three questions or concerns that you’d like input on, and the hive will help you problem-solve.
