Omega is set to host a Sotheby’s auction later this month of MoonSwatch Moonshine Gold suitcases that each contain a complete set of Omega x Swatch “Mission to Moonshine Gold” timepieces.

Eleven exclusive suitcases—each holding all 11 Moonshine Gold models—will be on the block Feb. 12–24. The sale marks the first time these rare timepieces are presented as a unified collection, and the first time the suitcases will be available for purchase.

The MoonSwatch collaboration between Omega and Swatch debuted in 2022, gaining widespread attention for its use of an innovative bioceramic material. Inspired by the colors of planets and space, the designs also pay homage to the iconic Omega Speedmaster.

Throughout 2023, the collection was refined to include the 11 “Mission to Moonshine Gold” editions, which have seconds hands coated in 18k Moonshine Gold, Omega’s in-house alloy known for its subtler yellow gold tone. Each model’s hand features its own distinct detail, such as strawberries on the Strawberry Moon in July watch, a floral pattern for the Flower Moon in May, and even a lollipop design inspired by the Speedmaster CK2998 watch from 1961.

The “Mission to Moonshine Gold” watches displayed in Hong Kong prior to the auction will be engraved with HKG, the Hong Kong airport’s code, just as the watches displayed in other cities will bear those cities’ aviation codes.

Ahead of the auction, the suitcases will be displayed through Feb. 11 at 11 Omega boutiques around the world: New York, London, Paris, Milan, Zurich, Tokyo, Bangkok, Singapore, Hong Kong, Beijing, and Sydney. Each suitcase will be engraved with the three-letter airport code for the city where it’s displayed, and every watch in that set will be engraved with the same code.

All proceeds from the Omega auction will benefit its longstanding partner Orbis International, a global organization that supports prevention and treatment of vision loss.
