Featuring choice pieces from important private collections and a wide selection of signed jewels by makers including Bulgari, Cartier, Hemmerle, JAR, Tiffany & Co., and Van Cleef & Arpels, the Christie’s New York Magnificent Jewels sale is a must for collectors with a taste for the rare and unusual. Phillips Jewels & More: Through April 13 (online)

Featuring 122 lots, this auction kicked off on Thursday and includes signed pieces by Tiffany & Co., Van Cleef & Arpels, Bulgari, Cartier, and others. All eras are handsomely represented from a pair of circa 1920 French art deco diamond dress clips to a contemporary three-piece citrine suite by Italian designer Margherita Burgener. The best part? Inhorgenta Munich show: Through April 11 (in person)

Many of the best suppliers, watch manufacturers, and artisan jewelry designers in Europe, especially Germany, will be on view at this jewelry trade fair, held in the Messe München exhibition center. The show kicked off on Friday but continues through Monday. Not to be missed is Murnau, Germany–based Noble Osmium, a maker that works with the widely unknown and underused precious metal osmium (pictured above). There is also a robust programming element, including an expert panel on the “colored gemstone of the year” (mandarin garnet, according to the show).
WJA New York Metro Chapter webinar: April 12, 6:30 p.m. ET (online)

In “Deep Dive Into Responsible Sourcing Definitions: What Does It Actually Mean???” two industry experts unpack this question with an abundance of accessible insights: Christina Malle, goldsmith, designer, and former human rights attorney, is joined by designer and responsible sourcing advocate Alexandra Hart in what promises to be a lively conversation covering definitions of the terms recycled and responsible sourcing as they are used by brands. The talk will include a practical review of a how a variety of websites are using the terms (names redacted, no public shaming!). With this approach, the takeaways promise to be specific, helpful—and invaluable.
WJA Master Class: April 14, 12 p.m. ET (online)

Find out “What ESG Really Means to Jewelry Consumers” in this webinar led by Kevin Reilly, senior vice president of Platinum Guild International (PGI), who will share findings from a study that PGI commissioned in an effort to gain a deeper understanding of the fine jewelry consumer mindset when it comes to environmental, social, and governance (ESG) concerns.
