MadaLuxe Group, a luxury brand and distributor, has acquired a majority stake in Ippolita, the New York City-based jewelry designer.
Financial terms were not disclosed.
Ippolita Rostagno, the Italian-born artist who founded the brand in 1999, will stay on as the company’s chief creative officer, overseeing its designs.
While MadaLuxe has no other jewelry holdings, subsidiary MadaLuxe Timepieces is the distributor and warranty holder for Swiss-made watch brands Versace, Ferragamo, and Philipp Plein, according to its LinkedIn.
MadaLuxe CEO and cofounder Adam Freede said in a statement that “we see significant opportunity to drive brand growth through strategic support and investment.”
This is at least the third time Ippolita’s ownership has changed hands. In 2007, the brand was purchased by private equity firm Castanea Partners. Rostagno bought it back in 2018.
