When Hamilton Jewelers hosted “Springtime in Princeton” earlier this month, it wanted to find out what clients are looking to wear this season—and the answer was color, beachy looks, and lots of gold.
The fourth generation family-owned jewelry store in Princeton, N.J., uses the annual four-day event to showcase new collections and trunk shows by some of its favorite jewelry brands.
For the 2025 edition, which kicked off May 8 and continued through May 11 (Mother’s Day), Hamilton focused on designer brands including Bulgari, Pomellato, Roberto Coin, Goshwara, Dinh Van, Temple St. Clair, and Walters Faith, says Anne Russell, Hamilton’s executive vice president.

The long weekend celebration also gives Hamilton hints as to what kind of jewelry shoppers want to wear to their summer get-togethers and other upcoming seasonal activities, says Russell.
“This summer, we expect to see a lot of layering pieces, gold, and diamond classics,” she notes. “We are seeing yellow gold as very important for self-purchase. Diamond hoops also have been very popular this spring, and we expect that trend to continue for the summer.”
Russell adds that customers are picking up easy-to-wear jewelry-wardrobe staples, like the brand Fred’s Force 10 bracelets. Colorful yet elevated, these bracelets offer a South of France joie de vivre that connects with summer travel and warmer weather, she says.
“Our clients also are gravitating toward our stretch diamond and colored gemstone bracelets because they are so comfortable,” Russell says. “Plus, they’re looking for chunky chain links and statement earrings that really pull a beachy look together from day to night.”

The Springtime in Princeton weekend starts with festive activations meant to draw longtime clients and newcomers into the store, Russell says. Hamilton worked with a local floral designer to create a custom installation on the store’s exterior that looks like a bouquet of fresh blooms spilling out, which people could use for the perfect Instagram Reel.
On May 8, Hamilton held its Garden Party, a fund-raiser for the Stony Brook Garden Club that featured mini shops-in-shop from Princeton mainstays that the jeweler likes to partner with, including apparel and accessories boutique Charbellem and custom embroidery brand Cozy Croissant. Guests were served Hamilton logo macarons from the bakery experts at Ladurée.
Attendees also received painted canvas tote bags with the Hamilton logo on them, and they could take home custom bouquets created at a specialty floral bar set up inside the store for the party.
“This is one of our favorite events in Princeton, as we not only get to celebrate fantastic jewelry design with our brand partners but we also get to enjoy bringing our community together,” Russell says.
In addition to its flagship location in Princeton, Hamilton Jewelers has two boutiques in Palm Beach, Fla. It also owns and operates H1912, a vintage watch and jewelry store, and Hamilton Home, a home and gift retailer, both in Princeton.
