Wow, the Met Gala! Is there ever a boring red carpet moment at this long-awaited event? Granted, some celebrities underwhelm. But the fashion-centric affair is always flush with looks we’re still talking about long after the night is over, and this year was no exception.
The theme, Punk: Chaos to Couture, brought out the rebellious side of fashion in a big way, from Jessica Biel’s fake septum nose ring (how unexpected!) to Emma Watson’s asymmetrical earrings (obsessed) to Sarah Jessica Parker’s custom headpiece (no words). Then, there was Emmy Rossum: a punk princess vision in a sparkling sheer Donna Karan Atelier gown with a messy braided faux-hawk (see a close-up here).
The Shameless actress ramped up the rebel factor with killer knuckle rings and exaggerated smoky eyes. Wearing jewels from Iritdesign, her earrings, a collection of tassel-like chains that reached her shoulders, topped off the statement look—one we just have to get our hands on. Even if you or your shoppers aren’t planning on attending a punk rock reunion anytime soon, earrings like these are worthy of any occasion and promise to add a little edge to the most ladylike of ensembles. Here are eight pairs of earrings that will have your customers embracing their dark side.
