Britt’s Met Gala Pick: Christophe Danhier’s Diamond Spike Ring

Christophe Danhier Mace diamond spike ring

When you think of “punk style,” what exactly comes to mind? Something along the lines of spikes and safety pins, dark exaggerated eyeliner, body modification, mohawks…am I on the right track? That’s why, when the theme for this year’s Met Gala—Punk: Chaos to Couture—was announced, it was reasonable to question how this would transfer to the glitz and glamour we all expect from one of the most prestigious fashion-focused red carpet events of the year. It turns out you don’t have to look far to see the rebellious culture’s influence in fashion, or even jewelry—as evidenced by this deliciously devilish ring from Christophe Danhier. Proving that punk can be totally glam, the rose gold ring with brushed finish features black and white diamonds set culet-up to look like spikes. If I were to choose something for last night’s Met Gala (clearly my invitation got lost in the mail), this would have been it, no question.
