London-based auction house Bonhams has appointed former De Beers executive Céline Assimon its chief commercial officer.
In her new role, Assimon will oversee Bonhams’ commercial strategy through its expanding global presence and drive client experience across the auctioneer’s diverse portfolio of categories.
Assimon served as CEO of De Beers’ retail chain and eventually also its Forevermark brand from 2020 until earlier this year. She previously had been CEO of jewelry chain de Grisogono and international director of high jewelry and exceptional pieces at Piaget.
Chabi Nouri, Bonhams’ global CEO, said in a statement that Assimon “brings a powerful blend of commercial expertise, leadership, and a deep understanding of the luxury market.”
