The Constellation Rings by Jessie V E Are as Brilliant as Ever

We learned last year, thanks to a study conducted at the request of the Plumb Club by the Futurist, that Polaris (the North Star), the sun, and constellations in general are all wildly popular emblems in jewelry. This we could have guessed, given the high occurrence of these icons in so many jewelry lines (and yet we still want more), but having consumer data to back this up should give retailers all the more reason to reach for the stars with reckless abandon.

In the jewelry universe there exist so many very good versions of sun and star jewelry—moon, too—that you practically could run an entire store with its variety. Jewelry featuring the constellations of the zodiac aren’t quite as common, though they do appear. And why shouldn’t they—the sky’s star-studded lines provide the perfect canvas for jewelry, where diamonds and gemstones connect in a constellation of metal, designed to look amazing against the skin.

Zodiac jewelry is popular and in high demand—so many embrace their astrological sign as a part of their identity—but each offering is a little different. What I like about this particular line, from London jeweler Jessie V E, is the way its lines take on a floaty, willowy appearance, gently wrapping the finger in a metal cage, but one that only seems to graze the skin.

These are not new to the market—the Constellation collection has been a mainstay of the brand for the last few years—but this is proof that good design has an enduring shelf life, and styles like these are worthwhile endeavors for retail stores to take on.

There are other categories to Jessie V E’s Constellation collection—earrings that dangle in starry maps, necklaces that kiss the collar—though I’m partial to the rings. I just like the way they look on someone’s hand, delicate and sparkling yet full of meaning. I’m thinking I might now take up astrology. Or astronomy—I suppose either would do in this case.

Jessie V E is a London jewelry brand helmed by designer Jessie Evans that specializes in handmade, personalized jewelry—just not the personalization you’re thinking. You won’t find engraved jewelry, or the “generic personalization methods,” per the brand’s website, here. What you will see are meaningful pieces like these constellation gems, as well as collections of Lucky Numbers, Dot Dash (a line comprising words in Morse code), and more. Visit the Jessie V E website to see them all.
